This Wednesday is all about your favorite audiobooks! Unfortunately, I don’t listen to audiobooks, because that takes the fun out of reading! To be honest, I’m not a very auditory person, so I have a hard time paying attention to someone just talking to me. Maybe in 2016 I’ll try out an audiobook, but for now I’m going to create my own topic and write about my favorite books involving audio (music, bands, instruments, etc.).
1. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
The main character, Mia, was musical prodigy before a car accident changes her whole life. She has the choice to follow her parents or return to her boyfriend. A heart-wrenching story that’s bound to leave you in tears. I still haven’t mustered up the courage to watch the movie.
2. Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
I’ve already admitted to my mild obsession with reading Sarah Dessen on the beach, and “Just Listen” was the second book I read. It’s all about a girl who seeks solace in music and how it helps her heal after a traumatic experience. She uses her headphones as a barrier between her mind and her life until someone comes into her life and changes it for the better.
3. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
I think I’ve talked about this one enough. Pretty much, I’m lame and love Nicholas Sparks and I’ve always wanted to play the piano.
Unfortunately, that’s all I have for you this week guys. PleaseĀ pleaseĀ let me know in the comments below any good books you’ve read involving music of any kind.
Happy reading,
KImberly
