It’s that time of year again! School is out (theoretically), and the living is easy (theoretically). But that doesn’t mean we bookworms don’t have big dreams for the summer. I don’t know about you, but I want to read at least 15 books in these 14 weeks of summer I have. Here’s the top 5 books I want to read before school starts up again.
1. Catch- 22 by Joseph Heller
I bought this from a used, online bookstore, and it’s been sitting on my shelf for well over two years. It’s high time I read. It’s been recommended to me by multiple friends and it’s time I take the plunge and tackle it.
2. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey
I’ve been wanting to read this ever since my friend did a project on it in high school. I’ve watched the movie, and I know the book is from a completely different perspective, so I really just want to see how it measures up.
3. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
My friend raved about this when she read it, and I feel like I’ve been talking about it since last summer. This is definitely the summer for me to tackle it!
4. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
This is a classic book I never read as a child and I think it’s high time I cross it off my list.
5. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Like Catch-22, this has been sitting on my shelf for far too long. It’s daunting to read since I own the compiled edition, but I know I can do it!
What books do you want to tackle this summer? Let me know in the comments below.
Happy reading,
Kimberly
