Assholes

I apologize now for the profanity, please feel free to exit this post and go look at Pinterest recipes that you will probably never make if you are anything like me if the word “asshole” offends you.

Okay, now that they are gone, let’s get down to business.

This book was HILARIOUS. James is a phenomenal writer that has some amazing talent hidden up his sleeve. (Try shaking it if you ever get the chance to meet him, some might fall out on you and you will be blessed.)

This book is a mix of serious theory and absolute absurdity.

James tries to nail down exactly what makes an asshole, an asshole. Is it the way he does his hair? Or the way he talks to people? Or maybe it’s just his general aura. And yes, I am referring to the “asshole” as a he because James dedicates a whole section of his book to the gender-ification of the asshole. (I won’t spoil the argument for you, but it ends on assuming that in general, the asshole is of the male variety.)

Assholes come in many shapes and sizes. According to James, some of those shapes and sizes include your entitled boss or the anchorman you watch on the cable news every night. Either way, James gives you many mechanisms to cope with the asshole in your life.

If you ever find yourself thinking, “Me-oh-my I may strangle this man if he becomes any more of an asshole than he already is,” I think this book may be the one for you.

With the perfect blend of humor and theory, “Assholes *A Theory” is the perfect book for the asshole-enthusiast in you. (As long as you aren’t offended by the word asshole. If you are, I’m sorry, but you’re just going to have to miss out on the awesomeness of this book.)

Happy reading,
Kimberly
