Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. This week was supposed to be about the books we are most excited to see published in the first half of 2016, but I just did a post just like that. So I’m going to post about the books I’m most excited to read in 2016 that I already own! Let’s go!
1. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
2. The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P by Adelle Waldman
3. The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien
This has been sitting on my bookshelf for some time now after Ryan recommended it to me. It’s a collection of short stories about soldiers during the Vietnam War. I’ve heard amazing things about it from various people.
4. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
Another book that’s been sitting on my shelf for well over a year, “Catch-22” is a satirical novel that follows various perspectives and a jumping timeline to reveal the story of various air force men trying to make it home during World War II.
5. Looking for Alaska by John Green
6. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
All about time travel, adventure, and romance, I’ve been dying to read “Outlander” since the summer. I finally got it for Christmas!
7. Not that Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham
8. The Secret History by Donna Tartt
I picked this book up on a whim because the back cover described such an intricate story with a twisting plot about how students fall into an alternative lifestyle that leads them down a dark path.
9. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
10. Books submitted by followers!
I’ve gotten so many books submitted by my followers to read, and I am so excited to finally read them! I’m sorry I haven’t gotten to them until now, there’s just so many books in the world and now enough time! I’m truly touched that people have reached out to me to review their books, and I can’t wait to give them the attention they deserve.
What books are you looking forward to reading in 2016? Let me know in the comments below!

Great choices! I really liked Eleanor and Park–I hope you like it too–and I own both The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P and The Girl on the Train although I haven’t read those. I might pick them up next year as well. 🙂
Here are my anticipated reads of 2016.
I am so interested in reading “This is Where it Ends” and “Symptoms of Being Human”. I’m also really intrigued by “The Rose and the Dagger”. LOVE your post!

That’s another one that’s been sitting on my shelf for far too long! I’ll definitely try and tackle it in 2016 too!
Eleanor and Park and Looking For Alaska are both of my favourite contemporaries! I can’t wait to read your thoughts on them!
