Top 10 Tuesday

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. This week is highlighting the authors you’ve read the most books from. I’m not usually a repeat-author offender (I get bored because their plot lines are usually the same), but I’ve read a lot of series, and I’ve made a few exceptions…

1. Sarah Dessen

I’ve read Dessen’s books since high school simply because they are easy beach reads that I really connected with, especially when I was younger. They follow my belief that author’s rarely deviate from what they know (Dessen repeats many elements from her novels, and it gets redundant), but I can still pick up Dessen’s books whenever I hit the beach and expect to finish them in two or three beach days.

harry potter books

2. J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter, Harry Potter, and more Harry Potter. This is my favorite series, and even though Rowling has bothered me a lot recently with her random Hogwarts announcements (I find she’s just trying to perpetuate her fame rather than focusing on the real story), I still love Hogwarts and everything it has offered me over the years.

3. Veronica Roth

As we all know here in Neverland, I have a mild obsession with Divergent. I read all three books in fewer than two weeks.

1984

4. George Orwell

I may even go as far as saying that Orwell is my favorite author. As I’ve mentioned before, “1984” is my favorite book, and “Animal Farm” was an amazing read. I’m always excited to get my hands on his novels.

5. Jennifer Brown

The author of “Hate List”, “Bitter End”, and more, I loved the books I’ve read of this author. I randomly picked her up one day in Barnes and Noble, and I wasn’t disappointed. Her stories follow unique plot-lines that captivate the reader’s attention from the moment they pick up her books.

Sara Sheppard

6. Sara Shepard

I’m coming clean right here and right now — I have read more “Pretty Little Liars” books than I would like to admit. It got to a point when there were just too many (kind of like all the A plots on the TV series) and I had to stop. But the books were great, easy reads — while there weren’t too many.

7. Nicholas Sparks

Another shameful admission, I have read some Nicholas Sparks novels, namely “The Last Song” and “Dear John”.

8. Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games was a great series. Honestly, it wasn’t beautifully written, any third grader could read it, but I loved the story line and probably finished it in less than a month back in high school.

Dan Brown

9. Dan Brown

I have no shame about reading more Dan Brown novels than I can count. I loved his writing from the moment I opened “The DaVinci Code”, and I’ve loved everything I’ve read since. I’m not usually a mystery novel kind of person, but I love the twists and turns Brown incorporates in his novels that ultimately lead to a mind-blowing ending.

10. Jonathan Safran Foer

I’ve read two novels by Foer. The first was “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” and gosh was this an amazing book. You feel every emotion when you read this novel.

Happy reading,

  1. I finished both the Divergent and Hunger Games series super quickly, too!!!! UGH I love Dan Brown!!!!!!!! Totally deviates from what I normally read, but his Robert Langdon series is just too good. I also bought his ‘Digital Fortress’….have you read that?! It’s kinda just been sitting on my shelf for a while haha
