Top 5 Wednesday

This week is dedicated to those amazing author’s in your life that have changed your world. I’m supposed to stick to author’s I’ve discovered this year, but I’m going to branch out and include some other amazing writers, I hope you don’t mind.

1. George Orwell
Have I talked about how I love “1984” yet? Yes? Oops. I read “1984” last Christmas (so almost this year), and as you all know, it’s one of my favorite books and I recently reviewed “Animal Farm” because I also loved that book. I think he’s an amazing writer that writes simply enough for everyone to enjoy it but profoundly enough to inspire his readers.

Trilogy

2. Veronica Roth
I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned how amazing I think the Divergent series is, if not, you can read my review. I discovered her this past summer. Although she is a young adult writer, I really admire her captivating style and intuitive look at life.

Fight Club

3. Chuck Palahniuk
I read “Fight Club” last summer and absolutely loved it. But I’ve also read some of his other novels like “Rant” and reviewed them on this blog. I think he just has an amazing, unique style that packs a punch when you finally figure out what it all means.

The Hobbit

4. J. R. R. Tolkien
Although I have yet to read the acclaimed “Lord of the Rings,” I devoured “The Hobbit.” I read it this past summer and thought it was an amazing tale. I couldn’t have picked a better book to read on vacation.

5. Steig Larson
I just finished “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” and I am speechless. I’ll be putting out a review soon, so look out for it. But it was such a captivating book with an astonishing plot line, I suggest it to anyone who enjoyed “Gone Girl.”
